Endep/amytriptyline for chronic pelvic pain?????From: Helen (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 14 May 2002 07:14:35 -0500 (CDT)
Thought I'd posted this earlier but it didn't show so I'll try again - sorry if it turns up later!! I'm 31 with 1 child - had abdominal Burch, paravaginal and posterior repair in Sept 2001. Since resuming intercourse, have had chronic pain on sitting and there is a v.specific point on the vaginal wall which is extremely painful on examination. My urogyn thinks that a suture is irritating a nerve and causing this pain. I also have the usual pain from a G3 UP- I am currently taking digesic, naprosyn 750SR and panadol for the above. Is endep a usual treatment for this type of pain? Has anyone else had it/had any success? How does it work? Does it block pain signals? Is there anything else I can do? I'd be grateful for any help on this one... Thanks,
-- Helen
