Nicole- If you've been on the pill for one month and have taken it consistently and according to the directions (e.g., you didn't start your pack late), then you will be protected by now from pregnancy. If you read the directions, all pill packs say when you are protected from pregnancy. If you started your pills on the first day of your period, then you are protected from that day forward. If you started your pack the Sunday after your period started, then it is recommended that you use a backup for one full week after starting your pills. From then on, you're fine (considering you use it correctly...) It is not necessary to wait one full month like another writer claimed. Hope this helps. -Kirstin
