Long-Term Diflucan UseFrom: Julie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 9 May 2002 14:57:11 -0500 (CDT)
I have a tendency to get yeast infections (diagnosed) and a thick/irritating discharge (not diagnosed as yeast) when I take the pill. After taking the pill long-term, I also had a year of vestibulitis, which many doctors believe can be triggered by yeast. I stopped taking the pill and the vestibulitis/yeast/discharge problems went away. When I began taking the pill again three months ago, I asked for a regular Diflucan prescription, but my doctor would not prescribe it until I had several diagnosed yeast infections. I did not want to deal with this discomfort, and was afraid of the vestibulities flaring up, so I purchased Difulcan online and am now taking a 150-mg tablet ach weak. The discharge/yeast problem has not returned. I have heard that Difulcan can cause liver damage. Is it safe in this dosage? Or do I need to have regular tests done for liver function?
