proveraFrom: Ally (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 5 May 2002 21:59:49 -0500 (CDT)
Hi I have a history of irregular ovulation and got pregnant with my son by taknig provera followed by clomid. I am ready to try for #2. My dr prescribed the same medications. Much to my suprise I got my period on its own about 3 weeks ago. I didn't take the clomid because I was going out of town (without my husband) around the time I would have ovulated. When I returned, I called my dr and asked if I could start the provera so that I could be sure that I would get my period after about 28 days or so (because if I waited for my period to be late, then 10 days of provera etc it would take forever.) Anyway, I tried to make the question clear to the nurse..is it ok to take provera BEFORE missing a period (if certain I didn't ovulate)? They said yes so I took it..but it's been about 5 days since the last pill and I don't have my period yet. Last time it started the next day. So here are my questions: 1. could I have messed up my cycle by taking provera BEFORE I was late? 2. how long after taking the last provera pill should I expect my period?
