My urologist performed a cystoscophy and ruled out bacteria infections and IC. I read that the Skene's glands around the opening of the urethra can be infected with ureaplasma, and that these organisms are not cultured under normal circumstances. The article recommended long term treatment with tetetracycline. My doctor agreed to let me try this treatment, but I couldn't keep the pills down after the 5th day. Is there a test that reveals the presence of urethral syndrome? Can this infection be treated with an antibiotic other than tetetracycline? Thank you for sharing your knowledge and your time. Caitlin One more question: Sometimes There is a white discharge in the opening of my ureatha that is difficult to wash out. Does this indicate an infection.
