Amanda,

I have gotten canker sores since I was a small child. There are times more than others that they are worse. I have found stress brings them out for me, too much acid (such as Orange Juice, and I love OJ!), dental work, and illness will also bring them out.

If you are concerned yours could be Herpes, next time you have one, ask your MD to culture it for you. Canker sores are not Herpes, but yours could possibly be just that, and you need to know. When I have Canker sores, they are always inside my mouth, under the tongue and gum line.

I know they are hard to deal with....a lot of pain. Talk to your MD about using Zilactin-B. It is over the counter. Don't use it until you talk with him/her to get their approval. I have found Zilactin-B works better than anything else.
