5 weeks postop and bladder still leakingFrom: Mikki (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 29 Apr 2002 11:46:01 -0500 (CDT)
I am 5 weeks postop. I had a TAH and BSO with a bladder suspension. I am 39 years old. I actually feel great but I am still a bit sore. I will say I havent felt this good in years. But my bladder is still leaking, after I urinate I stand up and it runs down my legs. I have to wear pads all the time. I was hoping to never see them again! Is this normal. My dr put me back on dytropan for another month and he said possible 2 months. But it causes constipation. Last week it had been 7 days since I'd had a bowel movement. So I have quit taking the dytropan. But even when I did take it I still had leakage. One morning I woke up and was soaked. The dr checked me and said everything looked ok. How long does it usually take for the bladder to heal from the trauma of surgery to the point it doesn't leak anymore? Thanks a bunch!
