It could be an external yeast infection. What you describe, has happened to me after taking Zithromax, and it was diagnosed as yeast. Whenever I am given any antibiotic, I am also give Diflucan to take after treatment, which does work. I also use Terazol or the like to help the Diflucan along. If nothing else, it is soothing to put the cream on the area.

The paper cut sting you are feeling could be from the scratching, causing irritation from that.

It is best to call your MD and see what s/he has to say. They may try and treat you over the phone, but if it doesn't get better, you may need to be seen.
