Complex Ovarian Cyst

I am 29 years. old. My menstrual cycle has always been normal and very predictable, until January of this year. In January my period didn’t come, when it was 11 days late I began seeing my doctor about it. Since then I have had 2 pelvic ultrasounds.

Ultrasound results:

First ultrasound, 5 Mar 2002 The right ovary measures 3.9 by 4.5 by 2.8 cm. There is a simple cyst of the right ovary with an average diameter of 3.6 cm. No free fluid.

Second ultrasound, 18 Apr 2002 The right ovary now contains a complex cyst versus side by side cysts where a simple cyst was seen on prior; one measures 2.1 cm and the other 3.6 cm. No free pelvic fluid is seen. Right ovary measures 4.4 by 3.7 by 3.1 cm.

At the time of the second ultrasound the cyst had been on my right ovary for over 51 days. After the second ultrasound I was reffered to GYN. The GYN doctor wants to wait 2 weeks and see if my period starts on its own, if it doesn't start he will put me on Progesterone (I have been on Progesterone 2 times since January to start my period) after mt period starts he wants me to go on birth control pills for 6 weeks. When the 6 weeks is up he wants another ultrasound done.

I am just asking for another doctors option of what steps should be taken at this point. I am very concerned for my health and I am afraid if I wait 2 months as the GYN doctor would like if it is cancer that wait might be to long.
