Re: abdominal vs. vaginal surgery

Hello Doctors,

I will be having surgery sometime this summer to correct a cystocele, rectocele & fallen bladder neck. I have been reading up on abdominal vs. vaginal procedures for this surgery, but, quite frankly, don't like the low (and sometimes short) success rates.

Are there any new techniques available these days that have a better success rate? I will also be having adhesions removed (for the 2nd time!!), which resulted from a hysterectomy I had 2 years ago. I don't know if this will have an effect on the type of surgery performed - just thought I'd mention it.

I would REALLY like for this to be my LAST surgery EVER! I would appreciate any information that you may have on new and/or advanced pelvic relaxation procedures. I have a surgical consult next week and would like to be well "armed" with questions!

Thank you for your time.
