Daniel Braun, MD: "Re: Progesterone Implant" Anita, I'm no expert on birth control but, based on all the reading I've done about hormonal problems, I think all hormonal birth control is very dangerous. I don't think there is a bc that is natural progesterone, I might be wrong about that because overdosing on natural progesterone will stop ovulation I think. But that is my point, you have to put yourself into hormone imbalance to achieve this effect and that is not healthy! That's why I feel the way I do about all bc pills. They are all synthetic hormones as well and synthetics cause all sorts of side effects. We women have been led down a merry path since the 60's and are just starting to realize the damage that has been done by this "convenient" poison. Just my never-so-humble opinion, of course!
