What do you mean by safest? Pregnancy seems to be more dangerous than any of the forms of contraception. The death rate from pregnancy is approximately 10 deaths per 100,000 pregnancies. With the birth control pill a death rate is one to two deaths per 100,000 woman years. With the intrauterine device it is approximately 1 per 200,000 woman years.
