I'm so confused, please help me someone! This is my first cycle on prometrium, 100 mg once a day, taken from cd 14 until my period comes on. The reason I'm on prometrium is to stop the 4-5 days of spotting that occurs prior to the real flow coming, and blood tests as well as an endometrial biopsy showed that my progesterone levels were low so my uterine lining hasn't been progressing the way it should. My OB advised me to consider cd 1 as the first day of heavy flow, and the previous days of spotting are actually the end of my previous cycle. So I started taking the prometrium on cd 14 as directed. On cd 27, I started having some staining. Cd 28, spotting. Cd 29 (today) more spotting. I'm still only spotting and no actual flow. I called my OB's office and the doctor wouldn't speak with me, only the nurse called. She said for me to continue to take the prometrium until the heavy flow comes again. I think part of my aggravation now is that my OB basically just brushed me off, that is why I'm posting here at this time. The reason I'm confused is that I thought the pre-period spotting would stop if I was on Prometrium. But I'm still having the spotting as I've done for 5 years now. Could it be that I need to be on a higher dosage of prometrium? I'm also wondering if I could be "off" on when cd 14 really is, because of the fact that I have all the spotting before my actual period....maybe my days on the calendar are all messed up too. Thanks for any advice.
