Question about bacterial infection & itching during period

I am on the last day of taking Flagyl for a bacterial infection. Before the Flagyl my doctor prescribed Diflucan (3 days) for what she though was a yeast infection. This was about 3 weeks ago. When it didn't clear up my problem, she prescribed the Flagyl.

The symptoms have improved, but this morning I started my period and I have some itching, which hasn't happened before. Nothing unbearable, but it's different than the symptoms I had with the bacterial infection, which were more irritation than itching.

1st Question: Could just 7 days of taking Flagyl cause a yeast infection? Or is this just the tail-end of the bacterial infection?

2nd Question: She prescribed Diflucan because I had a reaction to Monistat (*severe* itching, unbearable). I notice that there are different active ingredients in different OTC yeast infection treatments...if I had a bad reaction to Monistat, will I have the same problem with others? Monistat was so bad I don't want to experiment if the chances are that another bad reaction will occur.

3rd Question: Also, should the symptoms of the bacterial infection be completely gone by the time I finish the Flagyl, or is it possible that they would still persist for a few days?
