Hi Barbara,

Pelvic ultrasounds are wonderful tools. They can be done by using the transducer on the outside on the lower abdomen or inside with the transvaginal US where the tranducer is placed in the vaginal. The latter is better at seeing the ovaries.

Ultrasounds are used to see the reproductive organs. They are not only used for checking for cancer. I have endometriosis and have the tranvaginal US done when ever I go in to see the doc because I have ovarian remnant syndrome and it is the only way to see what is going on.

So try not to worry. There are lots of reasons why ultrasounds are used.

I hope this helps. Best wishes, D.N. At Sat, 13 Apr 2002, Barbara wrote: >
