nerve problems after hysterectomy?From: lyn (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 12 Apr 2002 22:10:57 -0500 (CDT)
my question is this I had two years where i had problems with my upper right leg. I would twist it getting out of the car etc and then suffer for days with a sore upper leg. Not long after that i started experiencing sharp pains in the vagina area, but the leg pain went away at this time. I have recently had a hysterectomy and bowel resection for endo but still have these sharp pains in the vulva, vagina area which the gp has diagnosed as the nerve endings spasming and sending incorrect messages to my brain, he has me on Dothep100mg at the moment but i will have one good day and then two bad days, not consistently getting better. would the leg pain maybe have something to do with this whole thing? I have scolosis of the spine. I will be seeing a specialist in pain mamagement in a few months time.is this the best course of action to take, I was told he would isolate the nerves involved and maybe inject them with local anaesthic and if that works maybe put something else into them to shut them up. thanks for you reply in advance.
