My daughter is just a little younger than your's. I know my daughter would at this point in her life really prefer a female gynecologist. ( I have gone to both and have no preference myself.) I would hold off for now on discussing it, and just wait to see if the problem corrects itself as the pediatrician suggested. However, she should begin to see a gynecologist anyway in a few years, especially if she become sexually active.

Moodiness is common at this age, but I expect she doesn't like her period coming every 10 days or less. (no one would!) If she needs to see the gyn after all, prepare her for what happens at the exam. I would rather seek treatment for my teenager rather than live with the frequent bleeding and other symptoms.
