For the past couple of years I have the problem of my clitoris throbbing almost constantly. It feels like sexual arousal, but it happens without any sexual thoughts or activity. In addition, it has not made it easier for me to have an orgasm, and in fact it is much more difficult now than it ever was in my life! This is uncomfortable and frustrating. What could be causing it and what can I do? Denise: If it is any consolation, I am 42 (almost 43) and am going through the same thing. I do still have my menstrual cycle and am on progesterone cream for the last year. However, my clitoral stimulation started in my early 30s...without any hormomes, etc. Lately, my clitoral hood has been itchy with NO infection present. I too have been going nuts...because I am an accountant and sit alot...and the seam of ANYTHING bothers my clitoral area. I now only wear skirts, cotton underwear, and the crotch of my panty hose cut out. If you find out anything, please post. My doctor doesn't find a thing and my pap smears are fine...along with biopsies.
