Clomid for LPD and previous twin pregnancy

I've been prescribed 50 mg Clomid for a LPD problem of low post-o progesterone (8.7).

I've previously tried prometrium to treat this problem, with no luck in getting pg. I'm reluctant to take Clomid as my only previous preg. was spontaneous identical twins, resulting in a difficult pregnancy I'd rather not repeat.

My doctor prescribed Clomid days 3-7, but I read taking it these days instead of 5-9 could result in higher risk of multiples? Is this true? My cycles are regular, 28-29 days.
