Question about Medical recordsFrom: Amanda (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 2 Apr 2002 17:42:50 -0600 (CST)
Hello. I'm 23 yo female with endometriosis and some other disorders. I picked up some of my medical records today, and found a few things that I do not understand.. so any help you can give will be greatly appreciated. The report is from an Acute Abdominal Series.. On the report it states.. " The cardiomediastinal silhoette, osseous structures, and soft tissue are remarkable for mild thoracolumbar scoliosis." Is this normal for scolosis to show up out of the blue like this?? I have had many x-rays, MRI's, and CT scans of my back, and this is the first time scoliosis has been mentioned. Is the thoracolumbar area around the ribs?? I'm just wondering because I have had rib pain and swelling for a little over 2 years now with no explanation. The second part that I don't understand is : "The lungs are adequately inflated with minimally inbreased interstitial markings seen throughout. No consolidative infiltrates or effusions are evident." What are interstitial markings?? and what are they normally associated with?? Also, I'm scheduled for surgery on the 19th to remove endometriosis and a fibroid, would these findings with my lungs have any impact on the surgery (problems with anesthia?). Thanks so much for any help you can give. Love and Prayers, Amanda
