Hi, I am 12 days postop. I had a TAH and BSO with bladder suspension. I was put on the Estradiol Vivelle dot 0.1 mg daily. Transdermal patch. I havent had any problems with it as yet. But my question is does it cause weight gain? I haven't experienced any but have heard of other women complain of this side effect. I have lost about 10 lbs since surgery which I know is normal. Fibroids were suspected but I had two large arteries that I was told fed my ovaries causing them to bleed and causing my uterus to enlarge. I cant form this picture in my head and I would appreciate a little more information about this. I was going to keep my ovaries if they were healthy but because of this they were taken out. Can someone explain what this means, about the arteries being too big and causing my ovaries to bleed and my uterus to enlarge? It seems as if the arteries could have been repaired, unless the condition had caused my ovaries to be in poor health. I hope I haven't been to confusing, as I really don't know how to explain this myself. There were also small cysts found on the ovaries too. I'm 39, and I was really hoping to keep my ovaries. Thanks so much for any info.
