Problems with my doctorFrom: Anon (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 30 Mar 2002 22:29:21 -0600 (CST)
My RE wants to do a laproscopy because of chronic pelvic pain (right sided, cycle related)and to confirm tubal patency. We have been trying to conceive #2 for a year. It's been two weeks since we talked about the surgery and he told me the surgery schedulers would be in touch, but they haven't been. I called his office (he works at a university and there are 20+ gyns in his office) and they said the scheduler was "behind." My questions: How can I get them to expedite at least scheduling my surgery and How long after the surgery is scheduled does it actually happen? How long after the lap can I start TTC again? Is it better to have a RE do the surgery because we are looking at issues of fertility or could any OBGYN do it? (i.e. if my tubes were blocked could a regular gyn diagnosi and treat that?) Last, this cycle is anovulatory (confirmed by a progesterone test) and last time I went more that 8 weeks without a period, I hemmoraged (my hct went from 41 to 29 in four days) and it took me 7 months to recover from the anemia (because I have Lupus and tend towards anemia of chronic disease anyway). My RE won't prescribe Provera until after the lap is scheduled. Do you know why? Is it better to have a lap done in a certain point in your cycle? Sorry for so many questions. Thank you for taking the time to answer them. Happy Easter!
