Partial bowel obstruction?From: Trina (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 30 Mar 2002 12:14:28 -0600 (CST)
Hello, I'm 37, had a laparoscopy for adhesions on both ovaries, appendix & sigmoid colon, now it's 6 mos. later with a recurrence of the same symptoms. The last few weeks I've had a new pattern appear - 2-3 days of mild heartburn, mild nausea, low appetite, bloating, increasing back pain, pain in ovaries, sharp gas pains and harder to pass BMs. This builds up over a few days until a day of very painful gas pains and extreme back and ovary pain Then I'll pass a BM - starts pebbly and then normal. Once this passes ALL SEVERE PAIN STOPS, then I just ache. Sometimes followed with urgent diarrhea, then the bowel pattern gets normal for several days, and then the cycle starts again. This has been going on for several weeks now. I drink plenty of water, exercise, and usually eat Bran cereal and salads every day to stay "regulated". Is this considered a "partial" obstruction or maybe IBS, or maybe just adhesions being stretched and pulled? Not sure if this is worth mentioning to the doc, as I've got a lot of other things going on that he's helping me with, and I hate to keep bothering him if it's a minor thing... Thanks in advance for any advice!
