Re: Depo Questions

Hi,

As far as the spotting goes, I do believe that is normal. I received my first depo shot on Feb 14th, after starting my period on Feb 1, and I skipped my period. I experienced some very light spotting today and I'm unconcerned, since I'm led to believe this is normal. I do have a question: are you experiencing any side effects? I've read some horrible stuff attributed to Depo, and thus far I've only experienced amenhorrea, as well as a week of nausea and hot flashes bouts. I've heard weight gain is the most common side effect. My doctor told me this is because appetite is increased, and if one watches what they eat, they won't experience the problem. I've been pretty careful, although I regularly eat junk food, and I've actually *lost* weight. Also, I heard soomeone say they experienced facial hair as a side effect...I can't find this anywhere in the depo information. I didn't think progestrone produced facial hair, I thought that was testoterone--have you heard anything about this?
