Marchbein, M.D.: "Re: I'm Pregnant & Curious...." Hi! I'm currently 13 weeks pregnant and was on another web site reading about finding out what the gender of the unborn baby is. I know I shouldn't believe in old wives tales however there's one that says that if the fetus' heart rate or heartbeat is over 140 that it's a girl and if it's under 140 it's a boy. Girl fetuses tend to have stronger heartbeats than boys. Is there any truth to any of this? My baby's heartbeat is 161 so if it's true I'll be having a girl....
