Re: Husband dead set against it!,the husband repliesFrom: another (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 28 Feb 2002 13:37:45 -0600 (CST)
I'm glad you wrote in, but IMHO, GYN exams aren't the core issue so I'm not sure that anyone had any suggestions that would fit the bill. Molestation is really, really, rare, a crime, and should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. But that was then, this is now, right? I don't know any women who *want* to get an exam, but the benefits have to outweigh the drawbacks to make the whole enterprise worthwhile. Pain relief, period regularity, disease prevention are all benefits your wife may realize, but you might not directly see. In the larger scheme of things, you may have to have areas of disagreement. You may never agree to the procedure, but if your wife sees the benefits, to have a real, healthy marriage, you must not stand in her way. There will be many issues where you are not on the same page, but if one partner must completely subjugate their needs for the other... is that REALLY where you guys are? Probably not. Please give that some thought and let us know how things work out. BTW, I've been married 24 years and it is an ever evolving process. Good Luck. At Wed, 27 Feb 2002, anonymous@obgyn.net wrote:
