Another question...I'm sorry!From: Amanda (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 25 Feb 2002 21:31:05 -0600 (CST)
I know I must seem like a crazy person, but now something *else* is bothering me. I got a Depo provera shot on Feb 14th (I got the first day of my period on Feb 1). I took a home ovulation tester stick on early Tuesday morning, and it showed a fairly dark line, meaning I was supposed to ovulate within the 24-36 hour time frame. I took the test again a few hours later and the line had already faded significantly. Late Friday night, my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex (I know, he was supposed to pull out, now I understand why that is an unreliable method). So was I in the clear then, statistically? (I think, 36 hours later would have been Wed night, and the egg supposedly lives 24 hours...) I don't know why I'm ovulating late in my cycle anyway, I have a normal 28-day cycle. Would the Depo shot affect a pregnancy test if I took one in a week or so? Should I get my period this month? Thus far I've gotten the symptoms of PMS, meaning swollen abdomen (for me), sore breasts, back pain. I'm just worried. I'm sorry to burden the board with so many questions, and I understand if a doctor is too busy to answer this. Thanks for reading!
