'Shocking' kicksFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netSat, 23 Feb 2002 21:10:04 -0600 (CST)
I am currently 26 weeks pregnant with my 3rd child. A little history- I have had 2 c-sections, I am in my mid 20's, I have dense pelvic adhesions due to c-sections, I have gained 3 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight My question: During my last pregnancy I had a few kicks that felt more like an electrical shock. The first time this happened I was holding my 2 year old and I thought I bumped against an exposed electrical wire. This only happened 2 or 3 times. This pregnancy has been very "shocking". At about 20 weeks (+/-) I started having these "shocks" again. They happen at any time and they are so startling that I actually jump if I am sitting or even yelp out loud! I am not a dramatic person so this behavior is totally out of character for me. Everyone I have explained this to thinks I am crazy! Please give me a reason for this. It would make me feel a lot better if I knew I wasn't making this up in my head (or belly to be exact). Is there anything I can do to stop or settle these shocks? Is it the baby that is kicking me or just pain from the size of my belly? Thanks in advanced!!!
