No one HAS to take hormones -- they are an option. There are benefits, and there are risks. They can help with hot flashes and vaginal driness, and they reduce the risk of osteoporosis. They increase the risk of breast cancer about 1% above your baseline risk. It sounds like you need to sit down and talk with yoru doctro again aobut your options and the pros, cons and alternatives to HRT in your case. >
