Unless the cysts are quite large, >5cms or better, there is no urgency to rushing off to surgery for simple cysts. Complex cysts, those that have internal "stuff" going on can be a different matter. Your doctor will need to make your situation clear to you before going to the OR. Gardnerella is the old name for the bacteria that causes bacterial vaginosis, and lives in the vagina in small numbers all the time. It can cause irritation and a smelly discharge if it overgrows.
