irregular cycles ; a few questions pleaseFrom: Tracy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 31 Jan 2002 11:15:40 -0600 (CST)
Hello, I wanted to know if anyone could make sense of my cycles and if they sound "OK". I am 25, healthy, 18.5% body fat, and have just minimal stress/anxieties. I have always been irregular and have been tracking my cycles and ovulation with basal body temps and other signs. (I know definitly when I ovulate because I have an obvious temp shift and get sore nipples, followed in about 2 weeks by cramps and period.) I have noticed that in the last 13 months, I have had (in this order) 3 cycles with O, 3 cycles of anovulation, then 4 cycles with O. My O cycles range from 33-58 days long. I always ovulate late in my cycle. My anovulatory cycles range from 21-34 days. MY QUESTIONS ARE: 1) does this sound "healthy" or normal? I have read in the archives that many things can delay ovulation such as hormonal problems, but could you please give me some examples? or could it be my normal that I always ovulate late? 2) I have also read that long cycles tend to be anoulatory, but mine are just the opposite. My short ones are anov, and my long ones have late O. Is that ok? Thank you so much, sorry this was so long.
