Re: How Long Will It Take To Get Pregnant After Depo? From: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 31 Jan 2002 09:12:34 -0600 (CST)
I had my last depo provera injection in 5/98 and didn't get pg until 12/99, and that was with the help of Clomid due to a luteal phase defect. I'll never know if the depo played a role in my problems, but since I had two pg's prior to depo that that I conceived the first month ttc, I believe it played a role. I don't believe my age was a factor in not being able to conceive as I was only 28 at the time. The good news is that this December I was surprised to learn that #4 was on the way without even trying, so it looks like things are finally back to normal. I belonged to a support group for those ttc after depo and some were very lucky and got pg fairly quickly I think the average time for the members of our group to get pg was about 16 months, however that is not a scientific study, just our own experience. I wish you the best and hope that you are one of the lucky ones. I would never recommend this form of birth control for anyone who wants to have a child within the next couple of years. Here's the website if you're interested, it is a wonderful group of women and there is tons of information there. http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/babyafterdepoprovera1
