[Birth Control] Mircette for Endo?

Hello! I have had Endometriosis for a while now and been on many meds to suppress it. After my laser surgery, it cleared up for about two years. Now I am experiencing pain again. I have been on Mircette for about a year(taken regularly). My doctor says that I should start using mircette to suppress the endo by taking 21 days of the pack, throwing out the last 7 days and starting a new pack. I am wondering if this is possible to do this with mircette seeing that the last pills in the pack still contain active ingredients. I don't want to start this method and run the risk of messing up anything by not knowing. Also, is there anything I should be aware of when using bc pills this way. Thanks.
