Basal Body Temperature

Hi, My husband and I have been trying to conceive for a few months now and I have begun charting my basal body temperature every mornig at 6:30. I am almost finished with my first month of charting. The general rule is that your temperature is to stay low and dip before ovulation and then spike after ovuolation (to about 98.2). Well, my problem is that my temperature has kept steady at 97.7-97.2 for the whole cycle. I'm pretty sure I've ovulated already, but my tempurature stays consistent (no spike). Any ideas on why this may be? Has anyone else tried this temperature thing? Does it work? The only BC we used prior to trying to conceive was condoms. I have bad reactions to BC pills. Thanks.
