Thank you Dr. Marchbein. My cervix has always been long and closed on initial exam (initial presentation to L&D). My MD said that they could do a cerclage, but it would only be because they felt like they had to 'do something'. Would a cerclage be beneficial without having an incompetent cervix, just to help prevent infection?
