The green pills are "reminder pills" to be taken on your period to keep you in the habit of taking them on a daily basis. Normally, one should take the green pills or wait 7 days and start the next pack of birth control pills. I don't think it's a good idea to skip the placebos (green pills) on a regular basis, as it can make the lining of the uterus unstable. Keep taking the pills until the end of the pack, including the green pills. Next month you probably will not have spotting. Take care, Maggie
