2 mid-trimester losses secondary to PROMFrom: susan (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 27 Jan 2002 21:15:01 -0600 (CST)
I had the first loss in Sept 01, 16 weeks gestation---PROM. Nothing definitive was found on pathology, cultures neg. and the chromosomes were normal. The second one was at 18 1/2 weeks on Dec 01, 2002 also due to PROM. Vaginal culture was + for e-coli, and the pathology showed chorionitis, chromosomes normal. Now, my question for you: What type of prenatal care would you give your patient with this history? I love my OB/GYN and perinatologist, but I will constantly be searching because I am so scared that this will happen again. A little more history: I am 36, on Cardizem and Atenolol for hypertension (well controlled) and on Levoxyl for my hypothyroid. I appreciate your advice, and thank you in advance.
