To Whom It May Concern:

I've searched the many topics on ovulation/pregnancy & ovulation kits, etc., But I've gotten bits and pieces to my personal question.  If this question has been asked, excuse for my impatience ..

Situation: I was on lo-ovral for 14 months. The last pill of the pack was taken on January 5th.  Before the pack finished i had breakthrough bleeding for a week or so and then a few days after the pack finished i came down with what i pressumed was my menstruation. it lasted a few days [4 or so].

My boyfriend and I want to start a family. I am 40 years old. yet, we want to give my body time to clear itselve of the pill. hence, i want to know when i'm ovulating so i can avoid pregnancy for now. i am aware that we can use condoms, but neither he nor i enjoy using them ...

i have always had a normal cycle .. 27-28 days. i have calculated my next cycle to begin on feb. 5th . i can also tell when i'm ovulation [mucous, fell hot in the morning, bloating, breast aches, etc.].  i estimate my ovulation should begin sometime this week .. 1/21-26 .. yet i do not / have not felt anything simulating ovulation .. though a slight discomfort on ovaries .. should i purchase an ovulation kit?

is it normal to skip a period after stopping birth control pills?

any suggestions ??
