I don't know about the abdomen, but I have a neuroma in my knee (had surgery in 1996 for a torn meniscus and they had to remove part, or all of the Plica...whatever that is ;o)...).

The Orthopedic surgeon injected it, and it did help. It is my understanding, injecting a suspected Neuroma will tell them if that is what they are dealing with. Forgive me, as I can not remember, but have you had nerve blocks to see if that helps the pain? If not, that might be your next step. Have you met with a Neurologist? I know you are tired of dealing with Drs., I've been there.

If the Topamax is not working, try switching to some of the other meds...one that is being used for nerve pain is Lamictal. You have to be watched a bit closer on Lamictal than the others, but it is worth a try...talk to your MD about it. Here is some information on the drug as well: http://www.mentalhealth.com/drug/p30-l06.html. Don't let the address of the website get you....Lamictal is used for various reasons.

Let me know if I can help further. Robin
