Bleeding........From: Anna (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 13 Jan 2002 14:53:33 -0600 (CST)
last week i posted this---- "Was on orthocyclene for a year and a half. got off it about two months ago. got period after active days as normal and that month was fine. got my next period after that a few days late (normal, i know). it's only two weeks later now and i am "spotting" heavily. what is it? i am trying to get pregnant and i don't know what's wrong. the blood is first redish, but then goes dark and then light brown. then comes back a few hours later. is something wrong? i'm a bit naive in this department and could do with some advice!!" It is now a few days later and i had spoken to a nurse at my doctor's office and she said that it is because i haven't ovulated in soooo long and now my body is trying to get back into the swing of things and get on track again, so it's normal to be spotting now (just for me to call her if it happens next month as well). The heavy brown spotting finally just stopped. ------my question is however, if my husband and i did have intercourse a couple days before all this spotting started (which was the 13th day of my cycle-exactly a week ago)could that time still have made me pregnant or does the bleeding mean it couldn't have happened? and also, do i still count the days of my cylce as before i was spotting and expect a period (as best i can) on the day i was supposed to have gotten it? and will my ovulating time still be the same? i just want to know if this heavy spotting messed things up. please help me.
