[Birth Control] acne and birth control pillsFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netSun, 6 Jan 2002 21:20:36 -0600 (CST)
I am 29 years old and since the age of 16 I have been on ortho novum777, ortho cept, ortho tricyclen, ortho novum 1/35, demulen, desogen, loestren, and allesse. When I don't take the pill I have occasinal breakouts. When I am on the pill I get large painful cystic acne all over my face. I have tried everything including topicals like Retin-A, benzoyl peroxide and oral antibiotics. The low androgen pills still make me break out. My girl friends act like I'm just making this up, they seem to not have any problems on their pills. The pimples feel different when I 'm on the pill they are much more inflammed and painful. Why? I need a reliable form of birth control and don't know what to do.
