I just wanted to add to Dr. Montgomery's post on laser hair removal.
I am having it done on my lip. I've had four treatments so far, and
still am not finished. It can take six or more treatments before the
hair is gone.
As Dr. Montgomery said, it is associated with some pain. They put a
numbing agent on the area (EMLA Cream) that is going to be lasered. It
does help a great deal, but there is still a bit of pain associated...a
bit more each time you go for a treatment, as they have to increase the
laser setting.
For my lip, the first appt. is $250.00, and each additional is $125.00.
Since I don't have a lot of lip hair (if you ask me, I had more than the
Dr. said), he didn't charge me anything near that. It is expensive,
but if it works, I will save a lot of money over the years not having to
wax anymore!
