Follow up question about period

Hi. I posted a message on the 29th of December titled "Abnormal menstration." I just had a follow up question about it. I got my period today, right on time, and I had all of the PMS symptoms I usually get (back and leg aches and irritability). My period was red this morning and had a moderate flow. However this afternoon and this evening, the flow is slower and it has turned brown again. My periods in the past have usually lasted about 4 days...my last period lasted 2 days and this one looks like it will only be a day or day and a half. I've been on my BCPs for over a year and a half now and my flow has always been heavy and lasted for about 4 days. Could it just be from the BCPs that my flow is becoming brown, not as heavy and that it is shorter? I know I'm not pregnant since I've been having a period, but could something else be wrong? I've put on a little weight during the holidays (5-10 pounds) but other than feeling a little out of shape, I'm doing okay. Should I go to my doctor or wait another month and see what happens? Thanks for all of your help! I appreciate it!
