Thermal Balloon Ablations and CycleFrom: Anna (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 31 Dec 2001 13:12:13 -0600 (CST)
I had a Thermal Balloon Ablation done on 11/15/01.. the week prior to that I had a period, that was light and only lasted 3 days..my post op bleeding was non exsistant, had serous discharge until 3 weeks post op..had PMS symptoms, then had what I thought was a period..very light, full of very small clots, did check with dr, and was told that some women do have a period that soon..that was on 12/10/01.. Today is 12/31/01, I had PMS symptoms again last week, had my 6 week post op, everything seems ok..started bleeding again today..no clots right now.. My symptoms prior to the ablation were prolonged profuse bleeding.. My labs showed Dysfunctionaluterine bleeding..which wasn't a suprise, but no polyps or fibroids. I quess my questions are, since the ablation hopefully will help with the amount of blood I loose, and hopefully will also cut down on the amount of days I bleed, what's to stop me from bleedng every two weeks again? Since my bleeding was due to hormonal dysfunction, and no hormonal therapy worked, am I still going to be bleeding every two weeks a small amount..does it take your body a few months to straighten out? I do have to track my periods for 6 months and have another check up then. Thanks.
