Last I heard, Norplant production is on hold due to a question about some inserts' potency. The date of expected resolution has come and gone a number of times. Some offices may have remaining implant kits unaffected by the recall, but Norplant has asked health care providers not to insert product made after October 1999. For more information, see http://www.wyeth.com/tareas/women's_health.asp# and click on Norplant System Product Information.
