MammogramFrom: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 20 Dec 2001 10:52:43 -0600 (CST)
I am 28. Had Reduction Mammoplasty perfomed on 6/12/01. Mother will history of BC, diagnosed at age 44/45. I have had one mammogram (which was fine.) Had this mammogram done when I was approx. 22 years old (scared cause of Mothers diagnosis). Prior to Reduction Mammoplasty, breasts were very lumpy (fibrocystic breast disease). Question: since I have had a reduction done ( went from 40DD to 38C), should I get a mammogram done? Also, what are the reccomended guidlines for a women to start mammograms when history was present with woman diagnosed at a fairly 'young' age? Thank in advance.
