Were you on the pill mostly prior to getting a tubal ligation? The pill will hide problems like irregular menstruation and polycystic ovarian syndrome. It doesn't cause the problems, but covers them up. For a lot of women, when they get a tubal ligation, they're also stopping the pill, and so menstrual irregularities are unmasked.
