[Birth Control] alternatives to birth control pills for irregular periods

Hi. I'm asking my question again since it didn't seem to make the cut last week. Is there any alternative besides birth control pills and depo-provera shots to control cycles? I've always had very irregular periods and have been on a wide variety of bcps. The depo shots didn't work for me, and now I'm on Mircette, which seems to work, but with a lot of PMS type symptoms that I hate. I don't feel comfortable taking the pill until I hit menopause, but my dr. offers no other choice--it's either the mircette or put up with the irregularity (which wouldn't be so bad if it was just skipping periods instead of bleeding nonstop for months!). Any ideas?
