Infection From Oopherectomy?From: Amy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 14 Dec 2001 18:52:07 -0600 (CST)
I'm 28, with 3 children. Tubal ligation done in 1998 after last daughter was born. Have had 2 surgeries, one in Nov 2000 for removal of an adhesion on my right fallopian tube, and another surgery..the unilateral ooperectomy (done 12/4/01). Problem is: I am having some sharp stabbing like sensation pains in my LRQ (lower right quadrant), and now.. the incision down in the pubic hair line is having some greenish-yellow pus oozing out of it (not a lot, just a little). The area is a little red. I contacted my dr starting about 3 days ago due to the pain. I have called every day since then, and especially this morning when I saw the oozing coming from an incision. I suspect I need a round of Antibiotics. One problem, she hasnt returned my phone calls and wasnt in the clinic today when I called her receptionist. What should I do? There is no fever, the pain is a 3 at most on a scale of 1-10 and the oozing isnt a lot. Should I wait till perhaps Monday when I can get a hold of her again.. or at least try to.. , or shall I make a trip to the ER?
