[Birth Control] alternative to bcps for irregular menstration

I've never had a "regular" cycle without being on one kind of pill or another. I've taken a lot of different brands since I was 14, and now am on mircette. I've been on it for 10 months and altho it does control my cycles, I'm experiencing PMS symptoms for the first time in my life (severe headaches and backaches for several days), and I would like to find out what other options I have to control the irregular bleeding. I don't like the thought of being on the pill until I hit menopause (I'm 30 now), but my dr. doesn't have any alternatives. I've tried the provera shot but the bleeding became nonstop, even after 3 shots. I have a very low sex drive now, and I attribute it to the pill, but have no proof. I don't rely on the pills for birth control. I've tried going off the pill at various times but always end up going back to control the bleeding. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks!
